Labuschagne Omitted from Australia's ODI Team to Face Team India
Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from Australia's three-match ODI series versus India, as high-performing Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw receiving a surprise selection.
Recent Form Lead to Exclusion
Selectors dropped Labuschagne from the ODI side following managing only a single run in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. Labuschagne has a best innings of forty-seven in his last 10 ODI batting appearances.
The 31-year-old has played 68 one-day internationals and scored 1,871 ODI runs at an batting average of 34.64, but will now continue to press his claims a Test team comeback ahead of the Ashes beginning in Perth on 21 November.
Surprise Inclusion and Other Squad Changes
Labuschagne has shown signs of a improvement in form with 160 for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield this week, while Renshaw also hit a hundred for the Bulls in the same game against Tasmania.
The left-hander may to make his white-ball international debut in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.

Team Announcement Strategy and Fixtures
Australia have selected a squad for only the initial two T20 matches against India with the Ashes approaching, although Glenn Maxwell will be absent for the five-game T20 series due to a wrist problem sustained in New Zealand.

“The majority of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an crucial phase in the build towards the World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously prepare certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India begins on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20s from 29 October.
